A Deeper Look
I am committed to creating a positive impact that ripples across generations—through healing, advocacy, and community care.
Of all the roles I hold—Mother, Woman, Granddaughter, Niece, Goddaughter, Entrepreneur, Community Organizer—the most transformative has been becoming fully, unapologetically me. For years, I carried many titles while slowly drifting away from my own spirit. My life began moving toward self-destruction and spaces darker than I had ever known. Before I lost myself completely, I was given another chance to choose. This time, I chose me.
Choosing myself meant releasing guilt around rest, joy, and pouring into my own cup. It meant breaking free from the invisible cage I had built around my spirit. That choice became the foundation for everything I do today.
After 18 years, I returned home to Seattle with clarity, courage, and a deep commitment to my purpose. My healing journey has been ongoing for many years, but it was only when I fully embraced who I am that I stepped into the work I was born to do: creating safe, intentional spaces for healing, transformation, and empowerment.
Today, as a survivor, community leader, and founder of Take Your Wings & RISE, I am honored to co-found the RISE UP Cultural Movement and organize the inaugural RISE UP AGAINST Domestic Violence March in Seattle. Through this work, I advocate for legislative change, increased survivor resources, and community accountability—ensuring survivors are not only supported but truly seen.
Alongside this, I am also a co-founder of For The Girls, an entertainment collective founded by creative women of color and built for all creatives across every artistic space. Our work centers inclusion, safety, and opportunity—uplifting marginalized voices and cultivating conscious environments where artists of all disciplines can thrive authentically. From music and dance to visual arts, film, writing, and beyond, we are committed to reshaping creative spaces to be safer, more equitable, and more empowering.
All of this work is deeply personal. It is born from lived experience, community connection, and an unwavering belief that survivors deserve more than survival—they deserve to rise, heal, and thrive.
I continue to rediscover my light, knowing exactly what I am meant to do with it: illuminate the path for others. My mission is to walk alongside those who are searching, so they may find their own light in the darkness and move boldly toward their truth.
