A Deeper Look

I am committed to creating a positive impact that will resonate across generations.

Of all of the important roles I have held—Mom, Wife, Woman, Granddaughter, Niece, Goddaughter, Entrepreneur—my most important role has been becoming fully, unapologetically ME. For years, I tried to carry each of those titles while drifting further away from myself. I found my life heading toward self-destruction and darker places than I had ever known. Before I lost sight of who I truly was, I was given another opportunity to choose my path. This time, I chose ME.

In choosing myself, I shed the guilt of pouring into my own cup, so it could overflow to those around me. I was set free from the cage I had built around my own spirit.

After 18 years, I returned home to Seattle with clarity, courage, and commitment to my purpose. My healing journey has been unfolding for many years, but it was only when I fully embraced my true self that I stepped into the work I was born to do: creating safe spaces for healing, transformation, and empowerment.

Today, as a survivor and as the founder of RISE UP Cultural Movement and the organizer of the inaugural RISE UP AGAINST Domestic Violence March in Seattle, I am carrying that purpose forward. These movements are born from both my own lived experience and my belief that survivors deserve not just to survive—but to rise, to heal, and to thrive.

I continue to rediscover my light, knowing what I’m meant to do with it: illuminate the path for others. My mission is to guide those who are searching, so they may find their own light in the darkness and walk boldly toward their truth.
